Why Take CBD Oil?

Now that you’ve got a grip on how much CBD oil you want to take, you might need a reminder of why you’re taking it in the first place!

There are a number of reasons to take a daily serving of CBD from hemp oil products, but the most prominent among them is that a hemp oil supplement helps augment the body’s naturally occurring endocannabinoids, increasing the body’s ability to promote balance within its systems.

When absorbed by the body, CBD interacts with the body’s endocannabinoid system, which is responsible for maintaining homeostasis through the manipulation of a number of the body’s functions, like sleep, appetite, and immune function.

It can take a couple of minutes to a couple of hours after use for the effects of CBD to fully appear, depending on serving size and method of application, among other factors that affect the rate of absorption by the body. Sublingual (holding under the tongue for thirty seconds) absorption takes place within 10‐15 minutes, while capsules can take anywhere from 1-2 hours to take effect.

Once the endocannabinoid is supplemented in this way, it is able to function more efficiently, thus optimizing the body’s performance each day. Although it is not critical to supplement the endocannabinoid system daily, doing so increases the effectiveness of CBD oil’s interaction with the endocannabinoid system.
